Good afternoon, all! So, some of you may know that I am recently engaged. (hold for applause) I am finally going to have a destination St. Thomas wedding! I thought it might be fun to blog my experience. I’ve never been on this side of the spectrum, but I’m excited to see what my clients go through on a daily planning basis. I will be blogging my experience from the proposal to the “I do’s” and who knows what else? I may continue into the married world blogging, so us girls (and men) can get through this part of our lives together. You are going to be able to follow me on my journey of planning my St. Thomas Wedding. We’ll call it A Wedding Planner’s Wedding.
Granted, my experience is going to be a bit different than yours, since I live on island, I am a wedding coordinator, so it may be a bit easier for me, and a few other details, but I will point out the stresses and what it takes to plan a destination wedding.
Subscribe to the blog and/or search (A Wedding Planner’s Wedding)! It’s going to get real! You’re going to follow me through the good times and the bad times. Let me know if there is something that I don’t cover that you want to see! St. Thomas is going to see all the trials and tribulations when planning a wedding here!
First, let’s start with a little bit about me and my future intended (FI- for those who are on Wedding Wire.

Tim, my fiance (still can’t get used to that word!), is originally from Philadelphia, PA. He’s grown up to be an extremely talented auto mechanic and he plays amazing music! He moved to St. Thomas about 9 years ago. He works as a mechanic during the day and he plays music with one of his best friends, Thomas, in the evenings. Needless to say, he’s a busy man in high demand.

I, Laysha, am originally from Gainesville, GA–the poultry capital of the world (I don’t know why it’s important–it just is!). I grew up and eventually decided that I wanted to be an event coordinator. I thought in order to do that, I should move to St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands– after all, destination weddings! They’re all the rage nowadays! I got to the island and started as a server at a restaurant with a plan to eventually get into the business.

Here’s how we met:
Soon after I got here, I got an opportunity to lease a small pool bar at a resort on island. Tim was playing at one of the other restaurants located at said resort. I had a huge crush and would close down on Friday evenings and go to his show. We started talking. There was a bit of hard-to-get from both of us, but eventually, we got on the same page. The date was April 9th. It’s when we went on our first date. It’s pretty much history from there! That was almost 7 years ago!
