Bride holding her wedding cakeAt Irie Matrimony Weddings + Events, we strive to make each and every wedding unique. We love seeing your inspiration photos for your theme and color scheme, and while we are perfectly capable of replicating your photos, we want your wedding to be the only wedding like yours.

The only limit is your imagination. Let us know what you want and we can make it happen for you. Our favorite weddings are the ones where we are given a color scheme, a theme, a budget and the freedom to make your dreams come true.

We are experts in designing and coordinating weddings and events, located on the beautiful island of St. Thomas, in the United States Virgin Islands. We can help you with everything from the coordination and designing of your event from the very start to the very finish. Visit our Wedding Services page for more information!

Whether you want your wedding on the beach, high above the clouds, or under water, we can make it happen.

I’m Laysha.

Laysha Powers WestSince you’re here, you must want to know a bit about who I am and what makes me tick. Well, I was born in Georgia in a little town I like to call Gainesville… well actually, that’s the name of the town so it makes sense to call it that. I am the middle child (no syndrome here). I have an older sister and a younger brother.

I currently live on St. Thomas in the gorgeous Virgin Islands. I moved here a few years after high school just to have an adventure in a tropical paradise. Little did I know that ten years later, I would still be here.

My parents think the commute to see me is a bit much, but the scenery is worth it. I met the love of my life shortly after moving here, which makes it that much better. Tim and I have been together now for ten years and were married right here in St. Thomas. Wedding; planning done by yours truly. (An adventure you can read about in my blog.) We have three dogs; Pepper, Bella, and Sandy, two cats; Mustache and Smokey, and my prized chickens that I cannot even begin to name them all but Seven, Kevin, Callie, Henrietta, Miss Prissy, and Beak-yoncé, just to name a few.

My hobbies include boating, hanging at the beach with Tim and the dogs, talking to my mom on the phone (almost daily), watching Friends (repeatedly and unapologetically), eating spaghetti for breakfast (it’s awesome… don’t knock it ‘til you try it), listening to 90s rock (Alanis Morisette is the smartest woman I know… besides my mom), and having Thanksgiving dinner almost EVERY Thursday (which inevitably means turkey sandwiches every Friday) I’m still not sure which holiday I like best, Thanksgiving or the day after.

When I’m not playing or eating, I am planning weddings for some very amazing people. I absolutely love meeting new couples and helping make their wedding day awesome. That may sound cheesy, but it’s true. My life is awesome. My job is awesome. My dogs are awesome. My chickens are awesome. My mom is awesome (she made me put that in here). My husband is awesome. It’s ALL Irie.

I’ve been planning events and parties since high school when I got my first chance to plan our homecoming. My classmates liked it so much, I was promoted from Class Secretary to Class President. Needless to say, I’m a success story who likes turkey sandwiches, Alanis Morisette, and planning the perfect destination wedding… and I’ve learned a very important fact while doing what I do… rain on your wedding day is actually good luck. (Ironic…don’t ya think?)

Please feel free to browse my site. Like us on Facebook. And, by all means, call or email me today so we can get started on your perfect destination wedding. I’ll bring the turkey sandwiches!

I’m Christina

ChristinaHi! I am 39 years old. I am from Georgia and have never lived anywhere but my hometown of Gainesville. That is until recently when I moved to St. Thomas, VI with my sister. It was a huge move but I am living my dream in this beautiful place.

I have 5 children – 3 by birth, Tyler and Isaiah who are twins and Jayda, and 2 are by heart – Cheyenne and Jeremiah Jr.

I have 3 grandchildren: Lucas, Reagan, and Kennadi. I never thought being a “Ya Ya” could be this wonderful. I am happily and pretty recently single.

I love music! I think everyone should dance all the time! Sand, sun, and saltwater are 3 of my favorite things. My best friends are my mom, my kids, my sister, and my cat Milo. He moved here with me. He is now an island cat.

I am very excited about my position here at Irie Matrimony. I am a hopeless romantic and love helping people make their dreams come true. I am very excited about what the future holds for myself and for our company!
