I recently had the pleasure of planning a Secret Harbour wedding for a lovely couple, Anne and Brian. Anne called me in February full of anxiety and stress, just trying to figure out what to do next for her St. Thomas Wedding. We jumped right into the planning of their nuptials. With renewed vigor, Anne’s stress was relieved and we pulled everything together quickly.
A little about the lovely couple:
About 15 years ago, Brian and Anne met in an elevator in the heart of New York City, where they both worked. That day, Brian told Anne that one day, he will marry her. For days following that initial meeting, Anne was always finding flowers and chocolate on her desk. She also kept finding e-invites for a first date with him. She declined for months. When she finally gave in, she brought along two of her siblings for the date.
Throughout the years, Anne and Brian were separated by life, distances and obstacles. Somehow, they always found their way back to one another. One day, about 5 years ago, Brian was walking Anne home and he slyly slipped an engagement ring on her finger. There were always excuses as to why Anne never started the planning.
At a family member’s wedding, Brian bit the bullet and let everyone know that he and Anne would be tying the knot in a destination. Anne knew that it was time to start planning for the rest of her life. They always said they would wed on a beach, and Anne remembered coming to St. Thomas in the past. She had made her decision. They would have a St. Thomas wedding! It wasn’t too far, it was easy to get to and you don’t need a passport!
She contacted Secret Harbour Beach Resort, who recommended she get in contact with Laysha, of Irie Matrimony Weddings + Events. And the rest is history! Anne and I planned her Secret Harbour wedding and it was such a blast working with her.
