I loved the set-up at Jamie’s ceremony

Irie Matrimony: What date was your St. Thomas Wedding?

Jamie: July 25th, 2015

Irie Matrimony: Where did you have your wedding?

Jamie: Secret Harbour Beach Resort in St. Thomas.

Irie Matrimony: How many venues did you look into before choosing to have your wedding in St. Thomas?

Jamie: We didn’t look at any venues since we knew we wanted to have a destination wedding.

Irie Matrimony: Did you ever consider hiring another St. Thomas Wedding Planner?

Jamie: Absolutely not–Laysha was absolutely amazing and I would never have had the wedding of my dreams without her amazing talent.

[Why, thank you! :)]

Irie Matrimony: Why did you choose the date you chose?

Jamie: We wanted the month of July and the date worked for Secret Harbour as well as our wedding party.

Irie Matrimony: Why did you end up ultimately choosing Secret Harbour in St. Thomas?

Jamie: The great response that we received when we were doing our research online on where to have our wedding.

Irie Matrimony: What was the most stressful part of your wedding?

Jamie: The opinion of others. The fact that our wedding was a destination that we had never been to. And our guests who wanted ALL the information of the island, including stuff that was not wedding-related.

Irie Matrimony: Where did you buy your dress?

Jamie: Party Dress Express in Massachusetts.

Irie Matrimony: Who was it by?

Jamie: Maggie Sottero

Irie Matrimony: What did Mo wear?

Jamie: Macy’s, since it was on the beach.

Irie Matrimony: Did you have bridesmaids?

Jamie: I had 4. Unfortunately, one of them had a baby a month before the wedding, so only 3 were able to attend.

Irie Matrimony: What did they wear?

Jamie: Beautiful purple dresses.

Irie Matrimony: What is some advice you would give a bride planning her wedding?

Jamie: Plan the wedding of your dreams–don’t let others stop you from doing exactly what you want. This is your day and the only day you have to be selfish so it’s perfect–the way you have always wanted your wedding day.

Irie Matrimony: What is some advice you would give someone considering planning a destination wedding?

Jamie: A destination wedding is both easy and hard to plan. The easy part is that you have a wedding coordinator to put everything together exactly the way you want it to be. The hard part is not being there to see how everything looks set up as a trial along with trials of the flowers, cake, and food.

Irie Matrimony: What was your favorite part of your wedding?

Jamie: My favorite part was the look on Mo’s face when I was walking down the aisle along with the beautiful view I got on the beach as I was walking down the aisle. The ULTIMATE BEST part of the wedding was marrying my best friend.

Irie Matrimony: Is there any other advice you would give a real St. Thomas bride?

Jamie: Always plan the wedding exactly how you envisioned it to be. Don’t expect the groom to have much say, as they typically don’t care. They will just be happy to marry you. Don’t let your guests discourage you from doing what you want to do. Make the process fun; it passes really fast.

The centerpiece for their sweetheart table was just as fantastic!

Irie Matrimony: Finally–because I know Jamie answered all of the questions–Mo, give us your words of wisdom for brides and grooms planning their big day!

Mo: Grooms, let the brides do exactly what she wants to do. Brides, don’t let everyone included stress you out or make you doubt what you’re doing.

There you have it, folks! One happy couple down, hundreds to go! I truly feel grateful to be able to be a part of wedding days of wonderful couples.
